Dressed to Impress for their Engagement Pictures

It’s been a long time since I’ve featured any engagement pictures on the blog. When friends ask me to document their wedding days and engagement sessions then it calls for an extra special celebration!
We had planned to be in Estes Park with this duo last weekend, mountains in the background celebrating as they became husband and wife, yet the world seemed to have another plan and well, the official wedding day is on pause.

I’m so thankful we were able to coordinate schedules last Fall as they came into town for their engagement pictures. Derek is a Delta pilot and Cassy has been on the front lines during COVID19 in surgery and on-call for COVID patients as well. We couldn’t have picked a better week for their session, the leaves were incredible and the weather worked in our favor. We headed to Montaluce Wineries mid-week so it was quiet and the perfect backdrop for trees, mountains, and a little slice of Italy. It was more cloudy than I typically prefer, yet the rain held off until literally right as we finished!

Derek and Cassy, I’m so thankful for the two of you and that what started as a friendship between Cassy and I has grown into the guys becoming friends as well. 🙂 We can’t wait to see you again, and look forward to celebrating you both when your wedding day comes. 🙂

Apparently there was a lot of “trash” in this field (on the left), hmmm.. didn’t see it. I just saw all that pretty grass!
Fallen trees can make the best settings for leaves and trees!
These two SLAY it with ease.

There’s something so classic and timeless about a good black and white pictures, don’t you think!?

If you loved these portraits and thought, “Man, I’d sure love to have pictures like this with my spouse or significant other”, Please reach out! I’d love to hear from you and brainstorm some creative ideas for your own session!
